ESBM Model

Center for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management has developed its own model to shape its efforts of entrepreneurship development in Indian context. We understand that entrepreneurship is lacking the support that it needs. General public is not conscious of the potential of entrepreneurship and the role that it can play in economic well being of the community. At center we believe that entrepreneurship must become a mass movement for which creating awareness is the first step.

As community is more aware of the entrepreneurial opportunities and its potential for improving our standards of living, a regular flow of quality entrepreneurs is expected. Such entrepreneurs must be enthusiasts who are driven by an urge to create and offer solutions to society's implicit and explicit needs rather than a last resort of demoralized and defeated unemployed. Center will contribute efforts to motivate students and youth to give entrepreneurial a try.

Enthusiasm will last short if youth find themselves incapable of meeting expectations of a commercial enterprise. The heart of our model is capability building. Most of our interventions address two important issues- Enterprise Creation and Enterprise Management. With an objective of creating an entrepreneurial society center is also focusing on creating commensurate capabilities to support creating such a culture.

Our ways of carrying out our agenda are entrepreneurial. Center strives to serve as a portal for sharing entrepreneurial thought and action. Center is committed to experimenting with different activities that promote entrepreneurialism. We understand that such an effort requires working closely with interest groups, stake holders and a variety of agencies.

Our job is incomplete without extending continued and sustained support to entrepreneurial initiative. While small industries find it difficult to mobilize expertise on their own, center provides support such as specialized trainings, consultancy, and information for these enterprises.

Activities of the center are carried out by its different units.
